*Joint Field Visit to Teke Community Showcases Holistic Approach to Supporting Vulnerable Children*
On August 20, 2025, FIED, in collaboration with ECHO, Sida, NRC, IRC, CARITAS Kumba, and EPDA, conducted a joint field visit to the Teke Community in Meme Division. This visit demonstrated a unified commitment to providing out-of-school children and other vulnerable children with comprehensive support that addresses their well-being and education.
The presence of key stakeholders, including the Chief of Teke, beneficiaries, mothers, caregivers, and persons with disabilities, underscored the community’s acceptance and dedication to the project’s success. This initiative is built around three core components:
– *Child Protection*: Ensuring the safety and security of vulnerable children
– *WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)*: Providing access to clean water, sanitation facilities, and promoting good hygiene practices
– *Education*: Supporting children’s educational needs and providing a conducive learning environment
The project is generously funded by ECHO, Sida, and UNICEF, with FIED and local partners taking the lead in implementation. A notable aspect of the project is the construction of a temporary learning space equipped with WASH facilities, creating a safe and healthy environment for children to learn.
FIED extends its gratitude to NRC, IRC, and other partners for their support and participation in the joint mission. This collaborative effort is a testament to the power of partnership in driving positive change and improving the lives of vulnerable children in the Meme Division.
