Inclusive Education Support

The Foundation for Inclusive Education (FIED), based in Cameroon, is a grassroots organization dedicated to advancing inclusive education, peacebuilding, and social justice. Under the leadership of Executive Director Nkegoah Ebenezer, the foundation focuses on addressing systemic barriers that prevent children—especially those from marginalized communities—from accessing quality education. Its work is rooted in the belief that education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for reducing inequality and fostering long-term societal stability.

🎓 Our Approach to Inclusive Education

FIED works to ensure that all children, including those with disabilities, are fully included in the education system.

We focus on:

  • Supporting inclusive classrooms in schools
  • Training teachers in adaptive teaching methods
  • Providing learning resources for diverse learners
  • Promoting disability-friendly education policies
  • Raising awareness to reduce stigma and discrimination

Through collaboration with schools, families, and communities, FIED helps create learning environments where every child can participate, learn, and succeed.

Building Accessible Learning Environments

FIED supports schools in becoming more inclusive by:

  • Improving teaching practices for diverse learners
  • Encouraging equal participation in classrooms
  • Strengthening school-community collaboration
  • Promoting inclusive education awareness campaigns

These efforts ensure that no child is left behind due to disability, background, or social status.

Teacher Training & Community Engagement

Teachers and communities play a key role in inclusive education.

FIED provides:

  • Training in inclusive and adaptive teaching methods
  • Basic sign language and communication skills
  • Community sensitization programs
  • Engagement with parents and local leaders

This helps build a shared responsibility for inclusion and equality in education.

Holistic Support: WASH & School Wellbeing

FIED understands that learning is affected by living conditions. That is why the organization integrates:

  • Clean water access in schools and communities
  • Hygiene and sanitation (WASH) programs
  • Health and wellbeing awareness

A safe and healthy environment improves attendance, concentration, and overall learning outcomes.

💻 Digital Literacy & IT Support

To bridge the digital divide, FIED provides:

  • Basic computer training for young learners
  • Digital literacy programs in underserved areas
  • Access to learning technologies and IT support

These initiatives prepare children and youth for modern education and future opportunities.

Partnerships & Community Impact

FIED strengthens its work through partnerships with:

  • Local communities
  • Schools and educators
  • National and international organizations

These collaborations help expand access to education, improve inclusion, and build stronger, more resilient communities.

Our Vision

FIED envisions a society where every child—regardless of ability, background, or circumstance—has equal access to quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
